Here are some notes from the recent Essbase and Reporting Special Interest Group event held in London recently:
The Essbase SIG was held in conjunction with the Planning SIG as there’s quite a bit of overlap between products and uses. It’s always difficult to plan these events to cater for all and manage to avoid the "Ugh, I want to go to both sessions at 2pm" comments. We did combine two sessions on:
Application and Infrastructure benefits of upgrading to version 11.1.1
This was presented by Peter Hill, Jane Story and Adrian Weston from Oracle and covered a wide range of items and was very well received by attendees. The format also allowed for several questions from the audience and added to the understanding.
This was presented by Jake Smillie from Altius Consulting, who was filling in at the last minute. Again this was a very informative session covering many aspects of security, groups and authentication.
The remaining sessions covered a wide range of topics:
- Tips and Tricks for Reporting and Essbase
- Canon UK customer presentation on essbase implementation/migration
- Product enhancement requests – the SIGs at as focal points for users to present issues and product enhancements to members who attend the Oracle Customer Advisory Board meetings.
A special thanks to the presenters and to everyone who took part and participated. The events reflect the diverse user community and enthusiastic members we have.
All presentations are available to download for UKOUG members only from the website.
